Community fridge project
Stortford Heroes next initiative is to set up a community fridge project within the town of Bishop’s Stortford. Community fridge projects reduce food waste and empower local communities to embrace the circular economy. To do this, we’ll work closely with local shops and supermarkets to rescue leftover food and prevent it from going to landfill.
We’re extremely proud to have set up Stortford Heroes charity to help support our local community. We already have some great community initiatives in the pipeline that we’re really excited about. As a company, we strongly believe that it’s important to give back to our community.
12 Days of Giving initiative
We hosted our ‘12 Days of Giving’ community initiative during the Christmas period of 2021. Our team kindly donated resources to 12 local causes. We helped our local food bank, dropped off chocolate gifts to local pharmacists, donated pet food to an animal shelter, and many more.
12 local causes that we supported
We had a lovely time at our Christmas meal at the Coach & Horses. We couldn’t have held the event without the kind sponsorship of ITVET who provided our transport with Anita’s Coaches!

Works closely with our local community partners
Charity has been a central component of my time at ITVET. There are always opportunities to get involved with the wider team to make a real difference to our local community. Since starting, I have litter picked, helped plan the Party in the Park event, and got involved with the Christmas initiative “12 Days of Giving”. This is encouraged by the culture of ITVET and makes my job much more rewarding.
