3rd Line Support Engineer

£36,000 - £43,000 +Bonus & Excellent Benefits

Based at our Bishops Stortford office you will be part of our Microsoft Gold certified Service Desk Team, dealing with 2nd and 3rd Line technical issues for our clients. The majority of the time you will be providing remote support, but there will also be times when you will be required to visit our clients to carry out remedial and proactive maintenance which occasionally may be out of hours or at weekends.

You will:

  • Be able to communicate well with clients and colleagues alike
  • Have a high level of technical skills and knowledge (Breadth & Depth)
  • Be able to work under pressure and on your own initiative
  • Be willing to go the extra mile for our clients without being asked
  • Willing to be part of the out of hours on-call rota
  • Be willing to assist colleagues with technical advice and guidance
  • Fluent English speaking.

Skills required:

  • MCITP level, or willing to prove ability to support at this level from previous or current position
  • Vmware/Hyper-V virtual server configuration
  • Server configuration and troubleshooting
  • Exchange migrations to 365
  • Active Directory support & configuration
  • Advanced Firewall and Router administration
  • Server migrations and installations
  • Good knowledge of leading Backup applications
  • Wireless Configuration & Support
  • 365 Exchange Online, with preferably Powershell experience
  • Advanced support of MS Office - all versions.
  • Windows 7/8/10 Operating systems.
  • Wireless Configuration & Support
  • Advanced Firewall and Router administration
  • Advanced networking and connectivity skills
  • High level of proficiency in the following networking infrastructure: TCP/IP, SSL, BGP, VPN routing and switching protocols a distinct advantage
  • Willingness to own a problem through to solution

It would also be nice if you had some experience in:

  • PowerShell scripting
  • Web and domain skills including editing DNS records
  • Azure configuration and administration
  • Knowledge of SAN configuration and administration
  • Hyper-V in a clustered environment
  • SQL Server administration
  • Some Cisco knowledge
  • Phone system troubleshooting/configuration
  • OSX desktop support
